Start a Blog and Do Some Article Writing - It's Fun
This week I have spotted an interesting parallel. Article writing and web logs - blog writing are now established web activities. Buying and selling on ebay is also well established. Recently I have been selling a series of technical publications on ebay and they have aroused a lot of worldwide interest. My early career was as an engineer designing rotating machinery. My father was a heat treatment furnace specialist and we both bought technical publications relating to our profession. These publications were written by other professional engineers about their area of specialisation. Each publication is a gem, written by an expert and invaluable. Because I have all publications my father bought as well as my own there is about 150. They are going to engineers all over the world. Even though some were published as long ago as the 1920's (Dads' collection) the technical information they contain is still valid today. The thought occurred to me that the current spate of article writing and blog writing is a continuation of the earlier practice of people passing on to others what they have experienced and learned. This time for free. My article writing and blog are now a passion that give me great satisfaction because I have to use the old grey matter to do it. I really do recommend you make a start writing articles, you will be surprised how your writing skills develop and the interest it creates. Don't underestimate your own knowledge and experiences - share them with others.
