How to Maintain Peak Performance & a Healthy Lifestyle.

We need a healthy lifestyle if we are to achieve good health, maintain peak performance and avoid 'burnout'.

With our busy lives this is easier said than done. We work hard, get stressed and with work/business pressures can slip into being overweight, sometimes stressed and suffering from sleep deprivation.

My corporate life - before my own business, certainly led me in that direction more than once.

This page and those linked to it have been put together to try to give one or two pointers based on personal experiences of how to achieve some balance in trying to remain healthy at a sensible weight, avoid stress while performing well.

I see it more clearly now than at the time.

Failure to perform at the highest level could rob you of your job/business or even your life.

After our lives and families our work and businesses are our most important asset and key to our success, so it follows that healthy eating is desirable if not essential!

As the pressures of work or business mount there is always a threat of insomnia leading to sleep deprivation which may affect performance.

After a stressful day some alternative activity is always a good way of winding down and freeing the mind from the mass of conflicting thoughts which can affect our ability.

What we each choose to do is up to us. We need to find what works for us. Alcohol and drugs are NOT the answer.

Some exercise and good eating habits with healthy recipes, relaxation and regular holidays are all essential if we are to maintain our good health.

Now I control my own time I usually manage to take Thursday to play golf and visit my elderly mother (97years). Work does not really feature on Thursdays.

A healthy lifestyle includes careful eating using healthy recipes and being moderate in our consumption of food and drink.

To be successful is not dependent on following an over strict regime and we are not suggesting that life should become any form of a drag.

However, it is surely desirable that we try to achieve good health by making sure we have a healthy lifestyle.

A pressured life can mean there is always a threat that self indulgence with food and drink may affect performance. To avoid this there are number of fairly simple things we can do to ensure good health.
