I was minded to think of this in relation to two inspirational business success stories that are related.

These were covered recently in the UK press.

One lady has grown her business to £100 million turnover from a start where she was not taken by the designs of pushchairs and prams when she was buying for her own first child. Being of Italian extraction she bought from Italy and started importing.

As the business grew she started designing products and now many years later she has a £100million business with 33 stores in the UK.

In the other instance two mothers could not find stylish maternity wear when they needed it for themselves so they decided to start a business providing such items. They developed a 14 store chain that they have just sold for an estimated £5million.

These examples prove that when there is a need initiative and good sense will work as you develop your business.

It seems to me that business ideas can grow from a personal need to become something good.
