A while back I wrote a short bulletin article titled 'a lesson from the log man'. It was used to give an example of how you need to give super service while not giving in to your customers' at their whim.
Also some while back I extolled the virtues of writing articles and publishing them on the net.
In any form of business if you are going to promote what you do and communicate with customers and potential customers you will have to learn the rudiments of writing. This is particularly important for business online.
A technique I have been using to promote my site is to write an article and post it with article directories, two in particular. EzineArticles and IdeaMarketers.
The reason being that an article posted with EzineArticles will most times be at number one on Google in a couple of days. IdeaMarketers have a neat tool where you can see where your article is on the major search engines.
So if you post an article with EzineArticles and IdeaMarketers you will get your article high on Google and you will be able to see where it ranks from IdeaMarketers. All my articles have links back to my websites so traffic is driven to the site.
The power of this was demonstrated recently when I posted 'a lesson from the log man'. Sure enough it was at #1 on Google within two days.
I get a bit addicted to my rankings because of the links back to my site and it's just plain nice to see your articles doing well. Also others are allowed to publish the articles if they include the links to your site in the resource box.
Shortly after the article appeared at #1 on Google I had another look. The results was amazing.
The article was at the top five positions on page one on Google and held six of the top ten places. It got better for when I checked on MSN the original bulletin article was at #1. All with links back to my site. Perhaps this is why traffic is growing in excess of 30% per month!
