April 30, 2006
Hello & Welcome

How to become established in your market

One of the main challenges facing any business owner is getting the business and her/himself recognised. Over the next few weeks we will be giving a few ideas on how to get your brand established in your market.

Perception is important. Customers/clients will always pay more for goods and services if they perceive high value, in short - quality. This perception is created through, supplier (service), product and/or individual.

Here are some ways that you can establish and raise your profile.

* Work in joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Get other business owners to promote you and promote them in return.

* Don't hesitate to let others know what you do. Be careful not to be boastful but in many situations you can just start conversations and weave into the conversation what you do and how it may help others.

* Never ever stop working on your marketing materials, learn from others and upgrade your materials as you include new ideas.

* Create a product(s). Whatever your line of business you will be able to create audio tapes, reports, articles, videos, booklets, ezines, or ebooks. You are an expert in your field, demonstrate why.

* If you give a talk at an event. Record it and create a product for distribution.

A great way to raise your credibility is to become an established author. Once you are an author you can use you book, booklet to raise your profile when bidding for work you include a copy of your book, this gives 'author status' and raises your standing in the market.

We will publish more tips on establishing your profile in future articles.

Tip of the week.

Don't talk about yourself the others will after your gone.
