Getting your business known 3.... - 'byobe' Bulletin 067.
May 14, 2006
Hello & Welcome

In previous articles we have discussed just what great opportunities are available if you develop the ability to speak in front of others as you promote your business. In this article we explain some techniques you can use to get yourself known.

* Many organisations are seeking people who are prepared to talk to them. Retirement clubs are case in point. You won't get paid to speak to them but think of the opportunity to get your message out to 20 to 30 people who will talk about what a great speaker your are and importantly what a range of topics you can talk on. Because you told them.

* Form strategic alliances with others who you can help and who can help you. Identify synergy and get referrals.

* Refine your promotional material to exude quality. Refine again and then some. Never stop.

* If you deliver quality people will refer you. People will give you testimonials if you ask them. Help them to phrase the testimonial. "The benefits are-------", "I was not sure but it gave the ability to ----" Quantify the benefits.

* Understand what difference you can make. Quantify it and use it as examples for what you can do for others.

* Are you special? Of course you are but do you really understand what is special about you so that you can explain it without appearing boastful and arrogant.

Very few people have this ability. When you meet someone who has you will know and that person's qualities stay with you for ever.

I have met many who thought they were exceptional and wanted to let me know it. I have met only two men who were truly humble but each in his way a really great man. Each had done remarkable things in their life but did not boast about it.

It is something about letting their experiences and achievements talk for themselves. Not needing to let people know what they are capable of. They exude modest authority.

If you have had this experience you will know what I am talking about. If you could truly understand in what way you are special it is all powerful because your humility adds strength to your achievements.

We will leave this session with you thinking about why you are special.

Tip of the week.

Quality is a fashion that never grows out of date.

That's all for now. I hope you will enjoy your next issue of 'byobe' Bulletin - helping you to succeed.
