Getting Your Business Known 8 .... - 'byobe' Bulletin 073.
June 25, 2006
Hello & Welcome

Continuing with this series on developing a presence for yourself and your business I am mindful that you may have developed techniques which I have not covered.

If this is the case do let me have them so that they can be shared with other readers of the Bulletin.

When promoting your business your stance to your clients is important. Adopt a mindset, which will set you apart from the crowd.

* Tactfully make it clear that you don't sell things - you allow people to buy. You are the final arbiter in the buying and selling process.

* Help people whenever you are able. If you find useful information pass it on. What you give out comes back to you. Be grateful and of service.

* Try to stand out from the crowd so that people remember you. Be unusual - even controversial. Enjoy the fact that you are unique.

* Each customer is unique as well. Try to tailor and personalise your offering/solution to that particular customer. Even if you have an off the shelf solution try to make it specific to that customer.

* Over elaboration can cause confusion. Be clear, concise and jargon free. Your overriding purpose is clarity and agreement

* People buy what they want. Sell them what they want and then convince them to buy what they need.

More next time. Do send in any ideas you may have, the more unusual and effective they are the better..

Tip of the week.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Albert Einstein.

That's all for now. I hope you will enjoy your next issue of 'byobe' Bulletin - helping you to succeed.

Best wishes,

Michael Harrison.
