Richard Branson, Entrepreneur .... - 'byobe' Bulletin 108. March 11, 2007 |
| Hello & Welcome Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Would you like to be like Richard Branson entrepreneur extraordinary? The whole topic of entrepreneurship has come to intrigue me. The reason being that more and more people seem to be trying to throw off the shackles of employment and do something on their own. Anyone who has read my articles will know that I think this admirable because at age 50 I did just that. Playing the corporate game is what some like and they are very successful at it. Richard Branson however started his business, which led to his £4billion empire at the age of around 16 and his brush with the rigours of the stock market caused him to take his business private again. This to me is part of what defines an entrepreneur. A desire to create wealth on your own terms, with freedom. There is a theory that we can be divided into two groups. Wealth creators and others. The others are not wealth creators like entrepreneur Richard Branson. They are the civil servants, corporate administrators, bankers et all. Whereas the wealth creators break down into four different types. Experts, Corporate Wealth Creators, Enterprisers and true Entrepreneurs.
That in its self is interesting because as a very successful entrepreneur Richard Branson will now have to be thought of as a corporate wealth creator, because of the shear size and complexity of his business. What I do know is that in my small way when I established my independent business it allowed me to do broadly what I wanted, when I wanted and freed me to look out for opportunities. In short you start think and act as an entrepreneur free of all of the corporate office politics. If you think you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur, go ahead try it, it's exciting and rewarding. Tip of the week. Entrepreneurs enjoy starting businesses and devoting all their energy to making things happen! That's all for now. I hope you will enjoy your next issue of 'byobe' Bulletin - helping you to succeed.
