Recession Can be a Time of Opportuinity

We are daily bombarded with messages from the doom sayers telling us how bad the recession is going to be.

Yes it's going to be tough but let's keep it in proportion. The definition of recession is when an economy has shrunk for 2 quarters in succession. So if the world economy shrank by 0.1% for two quarters the world would be in recession.

What that really means is all of the current level of economic activity will still be going on world wide bar the 0.1%. Some sectors will still be growing and some will be hit more than others.

As the authorities try to correct this and turn the world back to growth some people will get hurt. This pain is unfortunate but it behoves each of us to try to remain positive, proactive and vigilant for opportunity.
